Why We Trust Puffin Hemp: A Proven, Innovative CBD Formula Forging the Path in Hemp Science

The Innovative CBD Formula of Puffin Hemp Liposomal

It’s a common misconception that tons of safety studies have been done on cannabidiol (CBD) for it’s safety and effects in humans. The consumer mind longs to cling to the belief that a product has been passed lovingly through the hands of scientists after being subjected to the rigor of methodical scrutiny, poked and prodded for its merits and legitimacy. The truth is, almost none of the CBD products that land on the shelf or on your doorstep have been tested in humans.

In fact, the majority of CBD products will never be tested in credible human trials. That’s why here at The Hemp Haus we’re so excited to announce that one of our select CBD brands, Puffin Hemp Liposomes, has now been put to the test in human studies, and the results demonstrate the trust we’ve been championing in this brand all along!

We have always known that Puffin Hemp Liposomal CBD was a superior product (our opinion)—that’s why we’ve been Puffin Hemp master distributors from the get-go. How can you go wrong with a CBD product that uses innovative liposomal technology to harness optimum CBD absorption; that is created by an award-winning chemist with impeccable hemp and food manufacturing credentials; that is third-party tested so that you know exactly what you’re getting? Surely you couldn’t ask for more …

Turns out you can. Puffin Hemp Liposomal CBD has now completed three studies in humans (with more underway), and the first—a safety study—has just been published in the peer-reviewed American Journal of Endocannabinoid Medicine.

Puffin Hemp’s Liposomal Technology, CELLg8™, Demonstrates Safety and More

 Award-Winning Chemist Dr. Emek Blair

Dr. Emek Blair is the chief scientist and founder of Colorado-based manufacturer Puffin Hemp, and he has just published the first clinical safety study of liposomal hemp CBD on human subjects. Again, almost all CBD products have never been, and probably never will be, involved in human studies. Currently there are a lot of promising CBD preclinical studies, which are carried out on animal subjects or human tissue (not in the body, i.e., in vitro). But very few credible studies involving CBD in humans exist.

No liposomal CBD safety studies on humans could be found, which added an interesting catch 22 to Dr. Blair’s situation. The institutional review board would not approve a large study until safety of the liposomal CBD form could be established in humans. Essentially, they wanted proof of safety for a test that intended to prove (or disprove) safety … lol! But Dr. Blair’s first study has delivered that … and more.

Blair’s groundbreaking study examined the blood profiles of 10 healthy adults before and after taking his liposomal CBD delivery formula, CELLg8, daily for 30 days. Not only did the study demonstrate Puffin Hemp’s CELLg8 CBD to be safe, results revealed that it lowered fasting blood glucose levels in every participant who had a high level at the start.

“We are extremely excited to have the first of our three completed human clinical studies published. Our next study, on absorption, will be published in February,” said Blair. “We also have a diabetes study using CBG and a discomfort study vs. DNA phenotype going using full spectrum CBD.”

Dr. Blair has had the results from his absorption study for some time and has shared them on the Puffin Hemp website. But it was important to him to publish the safety study first, before he published a study on the effects and absorbency of his CELLg8 technology. The effects that Puffin Hemp had on fasting blood glucose—normalizing 100% of the five participants who had high levels—was a surprise. “They didn’t know that they had high levels when they started,” Dr. Blair laughed. “They were all supposed to be healthy adults, and they thought they were. That was an unexpected outcome.”

A Little About Liposomal CBD

CBD has an embarrassing little problem; it has poor bioavailability. Less than 20 percent of CBD taken orally gets absorbed into the bloodstream. Smoking or vaping the cannabinoid only bumps that up to around 30 percent. For a CBD product that is potent, efficient, and fast-acting, liposomes are necessary. Puffin Hemp’s CELLg8 technology has the highest absorption rate on the market: up to a whopping 85 percent (study forthcoming).

Watch this video to get a better understanding of how liposomes work. The video is from Dr. Blair’s company, Valimenta, that has been manufacturing customized liposomes for nutritional supplements for nearly a decade.

“We’ve worked to invent a whole new way of making liposomes to replicate how they occur naturally. CELLg8 technology has developed a way for liposomes, those healthy fat globules, to wrap around nutrients the same way they would naturally—helping the body to recognize nutrients and resulting in better delivery and absorption,” said Blair, who has over a decade of experience in the hemp and food manufacturing industries, and two decades of experience studying, developing and customizing liposomes.

The Importance of High-Quality CBD

Before there was a Hemp Haus, https://thehemphaus.com,  we were master distributors for Puffin Hemp Liposomal Hemp Actives. We were also customers, which is a major criterion for us to recommend a product: Would we put it in our own bodies?

All our products are third-party tested and provide you with the COAs (certificates of analysis). You can ask us about the backstories of the people in charge of making these CBD products, and we will gladly tell you all about them. And now, we’re so happy to report, you can ask us about the actual scientific human CBD studies done with our two major CBD brands, and we will gladly tell you all about them too!

So now, with the beautiful results of this Puffin Hemp Liposomal CBD human study featuring CELLg8 technology, we’re going to tell you again about why and how we recommend the Puffin Hemp brand.

Puffin Hemp Liposomal Hemp Actives

The “hemp actives” parts refers to the nutritional value found in hemp. Sure, there’s the goodness of CBD, but it’s believed that it’s the synergistic presence of the full spectrum of cannabinoids, terpenes, flavonoids, and other whole plant nutrients that contribute to the nutritional impact of quality CBD. In liposomal form, that impact amplifies! CELLg8’s liposomal delivery system is the most powerful, most absorbent, and fastest-acting form of CBD on the market. And now the research is coming out to prove it.

For better results combine it with Puffin Hemp’s liposomal Vitamin C.

What’s more … there’s been some concern over whether CBD can cause liver toxicity in people who take large doses of it. Because Puffin Hemp’s CELLg8 Liposomal Technology bypasses the stomach and digestion, everything is used, nothing is wasted, and your liver does not have to work to get rid of the unused CBD.

A Little More About Dr. Emek Blair of Puffin Hemp …

Dr. Blair (he proudly admits) is a chemistry nerd with a lifelong appreciation for holistic nutrition. Long before he was customizing liposomes for nutritional supplements, his mom was stashing fish oil, raw eggs, and herbs in his chocolate shakes.

“I just thought she was being nice giving me these shakes,” Dr. Blair laughs.

When asked about recommending a CBD product, Dr. Blair advises, “Stay with a product that is properly tested and is manufactured by a company that has experience in hemp and food production.”

Experience in food manufacturing

Puffin Hemp’s stat-of-the-art labs are a continuation of Blair’s previous manufacturing experience. For nearly a decade, his company has been manufacturing liposomal nutritional supplements. His facility is cGMP (certified Good Manufacturing Practices).

Making sure that a company has experience manufacturing food and is cGMP will help to ensure that you are getting a genuine and safe CBD product.

Puffin Hemp is currently the only liposomal hemp product in the world that is cGMP.

Experience with Hemp

A lot of people with no experience with hemp are throwing their hat into the CBD ring. Sadly, many lack even the minimum education on the subject to properly recommend hemp-derived CBD.

Before CBD even came along, Dr. Blair had a strong interest in hemp for nutrition. In 2009, he was consulting for dispensaries and hemp cultivators. He showed them how to grow and produce it using sustainable methods that made the most sense for their business, the environment, and, ultimately, their product.

Once CBD became available in 2013, Dr. Blair decided to create a liposome delivery system for CBD. The result, of course, is the only cGMP liposomal CBD of it’s kind, Puffin Hemp Liposomal Hemp Actives.

Also, Dr. Blair has two decades of experience with liposomes. He first encountered liposomes while earning his Ph.D. in chemistry at the University of California, Irvine in 2001 and never looked back.

For ten years he has run his own liposome manufacturing company, formulating and licensing liposomes for companies. He has formulated over 100 unique liposome formulas derived from nature with no high pressures, high temperatures, or toxic chemicals.

“I already made my mistakes—a decade ago,” Blair says, referring to the many newcomers in the industry, who, unfortunately, are cutting their CBD teeth at the expense of the consumers.

Again, The Importance of High-Quality CBD

We can’t stress enough how important it is to find a high-quality CBD product. COAs are not enough. A knowledgeable-sounding salesperson is not enough. Words on the label are not enough. It’s true, all these things matter, but none of them alone is enough to trust your health and money to.

Impressively, hemp is a bioaccumulator, meaning it cleans out the soil in its vicinity. That’s great for farmers wanting to clean up their soil. But it can be dangerous if heavy metals, pesticides, and other contaminants end up in your CBD. And, unfortunately, there are some unscrupulous people in the world who will sell contaminated hemp off to be turned into cheap CBD.

Quality CBD cost more because the producers have it tested by third-party labs, which is expensive. But the next time you go into a store or shop for CBD online, try asking the salesperson how many of their CBD brands have been used in human clinical trials that have resulted in published peer-review studies.
